Information about our Duckling Class
Welcome to our Pre-School page where you can find lots of information about our pre-school class (Duckling) at Stilton C of E Primary Academy. We are so happy and excited to announce the opening of our pre-school class, offering a new provision for children aged 3 years and above in our local area (since January 2024).
Our provision is open term time only between the hours of 9am until 3pm. Sessions can be booked directly with the school with either morning, afternoon or full day sessions available each day of the week. The pre-school has its own entrance so that families can collect and drop off directly to the pre-school provision and have quality hand over time with the pre-school staff.
As with the remainder of the school, we want all of our children to have the best start to their educational journey. We have therefore thought very carefully about the provision and how this can link to further learning in the school. We use the Primary Knowledge Curriculum to support this which looks at themes and areas to discover to enthuse and excite the children and give them a love of learning from an early age. The curriculum map for this can be found below.
To make our children feel a part of the wider school, we have our own pre-school uniform bearing the school logo for all of our pre-school children to wear. On joining our pre-school, we will gift all of the children a polo top and jumper to support with this. Further items can be purchased directly from the main school office. Children are asked to wear these tops along with suitable, comfortable bottoms in black (skirt, shorts, trousers, jogging bottoms) with suitable shoes (preferably black shoes). In the summer time children can wear purple checked summer dresses (gingham).
If children are staying for a full day in our provision, they will be with us during the lunch hour. Parents/carers have the option of providing their own healthy packed lunch or pre-ordering a school meal which cost £2.53 each. These can be booked directly through our booking system via Parent Pay. All children who are with us over lunchtime will remain in the pre-school room during this time overseen by pre-school and other school staff.
